Ligue 1 giants set to raid Man United for £16m-rated South American

Paris Saint-Germain are interested in landing Manchester United star Marcos Rojo as Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho is keen to offload Argentine star from the Red Devils.

According to the British tabloid newspaper The Sun, manager Thomas Tuchel wants to bring Marcos to Parc des Princes but they are facing tough competition from Zenit Saint Petersburg and Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain just joined the bidding war.

The Argentina international has been considered surplus to requirements and Jos is willing to let him go for the acceptable price.

The central defender has spent four seasons with the Manchester-based giants and agreed on a new long-term contract the previous season.

However, Marcos suffered a cruciate ligament injury last season and couldn’t play a huge enough part in the team’s efforts to reclaim the EPL’s top spot.

He has already fallen behind England international duo Chris Smalling and Phil Jones in the pecking order and has been informed he can leave.

Paris Saint-Germain are keeping tabs on him as they are looking to sign a left-sided centre-back in order to bolster their defensive options.
