Long-linked with an exit from the Ligue 1 side Marseille, Boubacar Kamara, against many odds, remains in France for the time being.
Settled and happy with Les Olympiens, the centre-back turned defensive midfielder is widely expected to depart at some point in his professional career, and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool could be his next destination.
That is what Italian outlet Calciomercato write in a very short article on its website, stating the Reds have ‘cast their eyes’ on the 21-year-old talented player, who is now a key member of what will soon be Jorge Sampaoli’s roster.
Unless the Argentine tactician wants to sign an early ticket out of his new team, such is the supporters’ affection towards the player, he will likely incorporate Boubacar in his plans, at least for the time being.
That is because the player’s current contract at the club currently runs out in the summer of 2022, meaning a final decision will soon need to be made whether or not to sell the player if no renewal is agreed by then.
This could play into the Anfield side’s hands if they really are keen, but only time will tell whether or not Boubacar is in the German tactician’s plans going forward following their January interest in the Croatian star Duje Caleta-Car.
Either way, fans will be keeping an eye on things, as the stories surrounding the talent’s future are likely to heat up in the coming weeks and months.
