Liverpool closely monitoring 24-year-old African midfielder

Liverpool have joined in the chase for Ibrahim Sangare as the in-demand midfielder is eyed by many Premier League clubs. PSV could brace themselves for offers for some of their high-profile players in the summer. Ibrahim Sangare and Cody Gakpo are two of their footballers who could depart the club following tremendous interest from PL clubs.

Arsenal are keen on Gakpo, among other clubs, while Ibrahim’s qualities are attracting a host of teams. Sangare’s fitness and the ability to hold the fort down in the central areas have made clubs keen on signing him. Aston Villa and Newcastle are among the clubs interested, with the Reds now joining them.

Now, it looks like the Reds have joined the battle for Ivory Coast international. Liverpool are in the market for a new midfielder as they might look to ease the burden on Fabinho, who signed a new contract earlier this year.

A defensive midfielder is deemed necessary for the club to progress in the future, and the Ivorian midfielder could be a perfect choice. The Reds had been interested in Tchouameni, but the Frenchman’s asking price may push them to look for alternatives.

The 24-year-old midfielder is considered the closest footballer with similar attributes to Tchouameni. PSV have a €38m clause in Ibrahim’s deal that expires in 2025. The Dutch club are in no hurry to sanction a sale of their midfielder and will not accept bids lower than the release clause amount.
