Liverpool are interested in signing Bayern Munich attacker Jamal Musiala, but it’s not going to be easy to prise him away from the Bundesliga giants. That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, but he does claim that a deal is unlikely at this stage, with Jamal uninterested in leaving the German club, and the Bavarians not wanting to sell him.
Despite now being a regular for Germany, Musiala spent most of his youth career playing for England. Germany international was brought up in England, playing for Southampton and Chelsea before joining the Bundesliga giants.
Liverpool are likely to be in the market for a playmaker in the near future, but signing a talent as good as the 19-year-old attacker is never going to be easy. The Bavarians gave him a chance at a young age, and he’s now playing regularly in the Bundesliga and the UCL.
A return to the country he spent most of his childhood may be of interest to the German one day, but at the moment, leaving the Bavarians doesn’t make too much sense at the moment. Jamal was born in Stuttgart, Germany but grew up in England, spending four months in the Saints’ youth system before being picked up by the Blues.
Musiala played for England up to the U21 level but announced last year that he’d chosen to represent Germany in senior international football. While Bayern Munich have made a stuttering start to their 11th consecutive Bundesliga title defence, the attacker has been in fantastic nick, scoring five goals and providing three assists.
