The Merseyside giants are reportedly set to launch an improved transfer bid for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo Goes. Liverpool were supposedly keen to sign the 20-year-old forward for nearly €60m in the summer, but could now try again with an improved offer of more like €80m.
The report claims that the German coach is a fan of Goes, and is eager to strengthen upfront as he prepares to lose star duo Mo Salah and Sadio Mane for this winter’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have been hugely important footballers for the Reds for the last few years, and it could be close to impossible to replace them in what is sure to be a difficult period for Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp also has the likes of Jota, Minamino and Origi to choose from upfront, but Firmino is another concern due to recent injury troubles. Liverpool are very much in this campaign’s title race, but it’s sure to be a close-run thing as both Man City and Chelsea also look very strong.
The Brazilian forward is an exciting young talent who could flourish with more game time, so Liverpool fans will surely be hoping Jurgen Klopp gets the chance to work with this highly-rated 20-year-old.
