Wolves are prepared to cash in on Adama Traore as they look to raise money to add their targets in the summer transfer window. This has come as a major boost for the Merseyside giants, who are keen on signing the 25-year-old winger, valued at £50m by Wolverhampton.
Adama has been in England for half a dozen years now, having joined Aston Villa from Barcelona in the summer of 2015. The move to Aston Villa, though, had not worked out, and neither did the switch to Middlesbrough. However, it is his transfer to Wolves that has worked wonders for Traore.
A mainstay in attack for Wolverhampton over the last three years, the 25-year-old winger has turned out 131 times for Wolves, chipping in with ten goals and 18 assists. His tally might not look attractive enough, but the Spanish winger has made quite an impression on one of the biggest teams in the world, with Reds hot on his trails.
The interest from the Reds makes a world of sense, especially in the wake of a sub-par 2020/21 campaign for the club. Attack, in particular, faltered a lot as apart from Mo Salah, the goals did not flow as consistently as they usually did before the last term. And with Shaqiri intent on calling it quits at Liverpool, the Reds need a replacement anyway.
In addition, the Reds will also lose the services of Salah and Sadio Mane in winter for the Africa Cup of Nations, which will then leave the German manager with a shortage of attacking options. As a result, the Reds have been linked with several forwards, including Federico Chiesa, with Adama Traore a viable target as well.
