Liverpool are considering an approach for Ruben Neves in winter, with the midfielder resurfacing on Jurgen Klopp’s shortlist. The Merseyside club need reinforcements in central midfield and are targeting a host of footballers suitable to play for them.
The Reds made minimal moves in the summer transfer window, focusing plenty on youth and their attack. The arrival of Nunez bolstered their forward line, but Jurgen Klopp’s main concern is central midfield. Liverpool have thoroughly struggled with the form of their footballers, especially Fabinho and Henderson.
The Reds have missed several of their stars, like Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain, through injury, but the duo could leave at the end of the campaign. Moreover, the team’s form in the middle has regressed since the campaign began, and the German manager stays keen to solve it in the next two windows.
A host of footballers are linked, with Jude Bellingham their main target. However, Jurgen Klopp also wants a player who could bring balance to the midfield. The presence of Fabinho and Henderson alongside the likes of Elliott and Carvalho has yet to yield good results.
They are linked with Youri Tielemans and Ruben Neves. Ruben’s deal is up in 2024, and Wolves could lose him on the cheap next summer. The Midlands club could sell if the Reds can table a reasonable offer. But new manager Julen Lopetegui may not want to lose a crucial figure ahead of a relegation fight.
