Liverpool in bidding war for €75m-rated Chelsea creative midfielder

Liverpool are monitoring the situation of Mason Mount, who is entangled in deal talks with Chelsea. The 23-year-old attacker has been with the Blues since his youth days and has been one of the most promising prospects at Chelsea.

Mason is deemed as one of the most prized assets of the Blues, and new owner Todd Boehly is pretty determined to bind him to a new deal. Mount is currently with the England national team in Qatar and is participating in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

England international is tipped to be a central figure for Chelsea in near future. But the Englishman is not satisfied with the deal offer tabled by the Blues. Substantial adjustments need to be done as the English playmaker wants to feel important from the monetary aspect.

Mount also wants to wait to see how the London club progresses this campaign. Talks are expected to take place after the World Cup, and Liverpool are keeping their options open. The German coach is impressed with Mason’s tactical awareness and might want to have the attacker at his disposal.

The Reds are destined to lose Oxlade-Chamberlain in the summer, while the likes of Milner and Henderson are proof of their ageing midfield. Mason would not be interested in a move away from Chelsea for the time being. But Chelsea also cannot risk venturing ahead without tying him down to a long-term deal.
