Brighton will reportedly give Liverpool the priority to add midfielder Moises Caicedo in winter. After losing Bissouma, Brighton fans may have been concerned over their lack of midfield quality going into the new campaign. Gilmour was brought in late in the window, but it’s the performance of Moises which will have eased their concerns.
Caicedo has performed exceptionally well so far this campaign, despite being only 20 years old. Ecuador international has been attracting the interest of many teams across Europe, and the Merseyside giants were interested in signing the Ecuadorian midfielder this summer.
Understandably, the Seagulls weren’t interested in offloading another midfielder during the transfer window, but they will reportedly give the Reds priority over signing him in winter.
The Seagulls have told all interested teams to wait until after the World Cup to attempt to add the 20-year-old midfielder, and after only signing for £4.5m, they could already make a significant profit.
Usually, selling crucial figures so soon after signing them would be a concern, but due to Brighton’s impressive recruitment network, there’s no doubt the next Moises Caicedo will already be lined up. Graham Potter’s side have started superbly, heavily down to the form of the South American midfielder.
Moises Caicedo appears settled at Brighton, and leaving so soon after cementing a regular place in the side doesn’t seem like a smart move. If Caiceddo is playing regularly and performing well, there’s little reason for him to chase the big teams at such a young age.
