Liverpool are prepared to make a surprise move to sign Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope, according to a report in English media.
Football news platform 90Min is reporting that the Reds are keen on a potential deal to land the England international in the summer transfer market. The 26-year-old Englishman has a deal with Premier League side Burnley until 2020.
According to the same article, Burnley would be ready to sell Pope for a transfer fee in the region of £15 million in the current transfer market.
German coach Jurgen Klopp is thought to approve of the price tag and feels Pope would represent better value for money than some of their other summer targets.
Liverpool have been strongly linked with a move to land the Serie A giants AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker over the past few weeks.
La Liga side Real Madrid target is thought to have a price tag in excess of £80 million, which would force the Reds to smash their transfer record.
This season, in all competitions (Premier League, FA Cup, EFL Cup), the 26-year-old Nick Pope has made 38 appearances and collected 13 clean sheets.
