Liverpool retain an interest in Ismaila Sarr, with Jurgen Klopp ready to stay in the market for an offensive signing. The 24-year-old forward is one of the footballers the Merseyside giants are keeping tabs on, but there is plenty of interest from other PL teams.
Last week, when Senegal international scored a fantastic 50-yard lob against West Brom, many opined the footballer did not belong in the Championship. Soon enough, the Senegalese winger’s name was mentioned alongside many PL teams, with a move away from Watford being what the footballer wanted.
Having been frustrated by Watford’s asking price in the last two summers, the Senegalese has somehow remained with the Hornets. Ismaila does represent the club’s best opportunity to gain immediate promotion back to the PL, but the kind of interest he attracts may make it challenging for them to keep hold of the attacker.
The Reds retain an admiration of Sarr, who has long been linked with a switch to Merseyside. This summer, the German manager could look at the void left by Sadio Mane’s departure and may consider bringing in a viable replacement.
The Reds did sign Darwin Nunez to shore up Klopp’s attacking options in the aftermath of Mane’s exit, but the wide areas stay somewhat short of the required quality. Luis Diaz proved his worth with a stunning solo strike against Crystal Palace, but Jurgen Klopp may need to bring in a new star with a long campaign ahead.
