Liverpool have been linked with a late summer move for Borussia Monchengladbach star Kouadio Kone. U21 France international is one of the options under consideration for the Reds to make a transfer swoop during the winter transfer window.
Bundesliga giants signed Kone from Toulouse in winter 2021, where he spent the remainder of that campaign on loan before moving to Germany the following summer. With 33 games for the German club under his belt, Kouadio has chipped in with three goals and one assist.
The 21-year-old midfielder’s debut campaign in the Bundesliga saw the player showcase only what sort of footballer he is and why he could potentially be seen as the Reds’ next version of Fabinho. For example, comparing the two footballers from their previous domestic seasons, the duo racked up an almost identical percentage for a pass completion.
The French midfielder certainly appears to have what it takes to be a strong prospective signing to the German boss’ squad and be their ideal heir for Fabinho. Liverpool should do all that they can to get the midfield prodigy to come to England.
Bearing in mind how the Reds currently have the likes of Thiago, Keita, Curtis Jones and Oxlade-Chamberlain out injured, securing a deal for the Frenchman would not only be a long-term investment for the Reds but one which would certainly help them out on a short-term basis as well.
