Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are reportedly keen to sign Young Boys’ starlet Denis Zakaria.
According to Swiss newspaper Blick, both Liverpool and Spur are keeping tabs on promising midfielder ahead of summer.
The 20-year-old Zakaria came up through the ranks with Servette before signing for Young Boys back in 2015.
Zakaria was named in the Switzerland squad for Euro 2016 and his versatility seems to impress both Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino.
A powerful holding midfielder who stands at 6ft 3in tall midfielder has been dubbed as the next Patrick Vieira and move to PL giants could help his development.
Swiss newspaper Blick report that Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are both interested in signing Zakaria, but they aren’t alone in the race for his signature.
It’s claimed that Bundesliga trio Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and Schalke are all battling to sign the Swiss starlet, with a fee of £8.5million mentioned, which would making him one of Swiss football’s most expensive exports.
Liverpool’s thin squad has been exposed at times this term, and with Lucas Leiva’s future remains up in the air Jurgen Klopp is seeking for alternatives to strengthen the midfield area.
