The Premier League giants Liverpool are reportedly keen to land Portuguese creative midfielder Bruno Fernandes from Sporting CP upcoming summer transfer window.
According to reports from Portuguese magazine O Jogo, as quoted by The Metro, the Reds are interested in landing the midfielder, who has been in superb form for his side current season.
It’s reported that Merseyside club have already entered into talks with Sporting’s promising midfielder, who has netted 13 goals in all competitions current season. He has also provided with a highly impressive sum of 18 assists.
Fernandes has evidently been watched by Liverpool’s scouts in Sporting’s recent outings in the Europa League and with the management said to already be in negotiations, it looks like the scouts have been uplifted by their viewings of the player.
The 23-year-old joined Sporting CP from Italian side Sampdoria at the end of the previous season in a deal worth just £7m. After all, they’ll be forced to pay an appreciable sum more if they want to sign Fernandes this summer.
Portugal international Bruno’s release clause in his current contract is said to be set at £87m – a fee which Liverpool are, of course, hugely improbable to meet.
