Liverpool news round-up: Reds join Barella chase, Fulham want Belgian star, latest on Werner

Liverpool express interest in £27m-rated also linked with several European giants

Liverpool and Serie A side Inter Milan have both joined the hunt to sign Chelsea target Nicolo Barella, according to a British daily tabloid newspaper The Daily Express.

German manager Jurgen Klopp will be interested in bolstering his side in the January transfer market as they hope to continue their effort for the Premier League title this season.

Chelsea target is the latest midfielder to have reportedly caught the Blues’ eye, with the Cagliari star’s future with the Serie A outfit currently in doubt.

Italian outfits AC Milan, Napoli, AS Roma and now Inter Milan are all also lining up a potential move for the 21-year-old central midfielder.

Chelsea are looking for a long-term successor for outgoing midfielder Cesc Fabregas, with manager Maurizio Sarri believing that Nicolo could be the perfect fit.

Chelsea had been leading the hunt for the midfielder, but with Reds now interested and Inter Milan willing to do a part-exchange with Rossoblu which would include forward Eder going in the opposite direction, Maurizio Sarri’s side could have a huge fight on their hands for his signature.

Premier League rivals keen on January deal to sign out-of-favour Liverpool star

West Ham United are interested in a January deal to land Liverpool star Divock Origi, but only if Spanish forward Lucas Perez leaves the club, the reports say.

According to a daily tabloid newspaper The Daily Star, as quoted on HITC, the Hammers could plot a January move to sign the Belgian, with Lucas attracting interest from elsewhere.

After failing to break into Chilean coach Manuel Pellegrini’s plans since his arrival over the summer transfer market, Perez is being heavily connected with a move back to Spain.

Real Betis are interested in snapping the striker, but West Ham United are eager to ensure that they are not left short of variants in the final third.

The Spaniard has been not able to recreate the form he showed in Spain’s top division over in the Premier League, both with Arsenal and now West Ham United.

Like Lucas Perez, Origi is also out of favour at Anfield outfit and has found game time to come by this campaign.

In spite of securing hero status at Reds with his late goal against Everton in the Merseyside derby, a transfer away from the club is looking extremely likely.

Watzke thinks long-term Liverpool target will join Bundesliga giants

Borussia Dortmund’s chief Hans-Joachim Watzke has dropped a huge hint that Liverpool target Timo Werner could be on his way to Niko Kovac’s Bayern Munich.

Liverpool, along with both Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich have been heavily connected with a move to Werner, who looks set to depart from RB Leipzig in the near future.

When quizzed on the forward’s future and a possible bid from die Borussen, Watzke gave a cryptic answer, as reported by football news outlet Goal’s Ronan Murphy:

“I know at least eighty players who would suit us well, but at least I have the impression that one of the two players has already settled his future- and not with us.”

The German forward is yet to commit to a new deal with the Bundesliga outfit and has been informed that he will be sold if he does not put pen to paper.

Timo will not be short of suitors after proving himself as one of the top strikers in his native Germany in recent years. Die Roten are particularly keen as they go in search of a long-term heir for the ageing Robert Lewandowski.

They have agreed on a deal to land France international Benjamin Pavard and are looking to secure the services of Premier League giants Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi in a £35m deal.
