The Merseyside giants could be looking to sign another South American striker to strengthen the front-line this transfer window. Liverpool want to give Flamengo centre-forward Gabriel Barbosa, better known as Gabigol, another shot at playing in Europe.
The report further details that the Brazilian club would be considering listening in on offers of nearly £40n. Brazil international could rejuvenate the team that saw Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino suffer dips in their form. Barbosa has rediscovered his confidence with the Brazilian club, where he’s scored 88 goals in 119 games during his three years with Flamengo.
After finding his form in his home country, Gabriel could be interested in giving Europe a second shot after poor stints with Inter Milan and Benfica. Meanwhile, the German manager might want to see if he can strike gold twice when bringing the 24-year-old striker.
The Brazilian club could look to sell, considering they need the sum. The Reds supporters are starving at current, with their club not appearing to do a great deal in the transfer market. Links to Federico Chiesa were the perfect way to spark a transfer frenzy in the Reds fanbase.
Unfortunately for the Liverpool faithful, it doesn’t look as though there was even a modicum of truth to them. The next stage of pre-season would also possibly see the return of Andrew Robertson, Diogo Jota and Virgil van Dijk, with a firm decision to be made in the coming days.
