Liverpool plotting move for Lille’s in-demand forward

Liverpool have been rumoured with several creative forwards lately and one of them is French international and Lille star Jonathan Ikone.

According to a recent report exclusively covered by Anfield Central, Jurgen Klopp’s side are seriously interested securing the services of Les Bleus winger, who claimed the Ligue 1 trophy last term.

The news source have mentioned that Lille value their prized asset at €40 million (£34.4million) and the Merseyside Reds are plotting a move to agree his signing on favorable terms.

It is claimed that keeping in view the financial implications of the coronavirus outbreak, Jurgen Klopp’s side would like to make an affordable initial outlay and then agree a suitable structure to pay the rest amount in future.

Ikone is a versatile winger, who can play in both flans and as a centre-forward.

In the 2019-20 season, Lille mainly utilized him in the central attacking midfield role, however,naturally, he is a winger and last season, he did play mostly in his preferred right wing role.

The 23-year-old has managed to found back of the net 7 times and provided 7 assists in the title winning season under the management of Christophe Galtier. However, he was not selected by Didier Deschamps in France’s national team for the European Championships.

Ikone made his international; debut back in 2019 and scored only one goal for his country.

Liverpool do have a world class forward in the form of Mohamed Salah, who was once again in brilliant form last term. However, recent reports claim that Barcelona and Real Madrid keen on to secure his services ahead of the next season.
