Liverpool Plotting Summer Move For In-Demand Defensive Rock

Liverpool have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of 28-year-old Fenerbahce star Simon Kjaer.

The Danish defender who has joined the Turkish giants from Lille back in 2015 has been one of the top targets for Premier League clubs including Liverpool and Chelsea.

The performances of 28-year-old defender under Dick Advocaat this term have apparently caught Jurgen Klopp’s eye.

Turkish media outlet Fanatik claim that Merseyside Reds are in the hunt for Danish powerhouse.

And they have reportedly met with the agents of 28-year-old defender Mikkel Beck ahead of potential move to Anfield.

Fanatik also suggests that move was made after Kjaer held talks with Serie A giants Inter and AC Milan.

The Serie A giants are now backed by separate consortiums of Chinese investors and they are ready to splash money this summer to return their name to the European competitions.

And Fenerbahce star has met with the representatives of both Milan clubs.

The centre-back has previous experience of living in Italy during his spells with Roma and Palermo and might be interested to make a return.

On the other hand Kjaer has been a huge admirer of Premier League and Liverpool could be his next destination.
