Liverpool set to hijack move for creative Spanish midfielder

Liverpool are reportedly hoping to beat their arch rivals Manchester United in securing the services of Atletico Madrid midfield star Saul Niguez.

The 26-year-old, who played a vital role in Atleti’s La Liga title triumph in 2020-21, has once again been rumoured with a move to Old Trafford ahead of the next season.

Spain international midfielder has been on Los Colchoneros’ books for the past 13 years, however, he is supposedly seeking a fresh challenge away from the Wanda Metropolitano and Premier League thought to be his favoured destination.

The Red Devils are considered the frountrunners to land the Spain international, though Empire of the Kop claims that the Merseyside Reds have also been alerted by his eagerness to leave.

It is reported that Liverpool are keen on to strengthen in midfield area and will gazump any bid made by fellow Premier League teams Manchester United.

Saul is under talks with Atletico Madrid until 2026, however, the Spanish champions are believed to be ready to cash in for around £40m.

Liverpool and Man Utd also continue chase for another Atletico Madrid star Moussa Dembele who has failed to establish himself at Wanda Metropolitano and could be on his way out for the club.
