Liverpool’s winger Xherdan Shaqiri has revealed that he is fine at Reds but refused to deny he wouldn’t leave the club to return to Italy.
Speaking to Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Swiss star revealed he had nothing but praise for his one-time side Inter Milan.
The technically gifted attacker had a troubled spell in Milan, before departing from Nerazzurri to join Stoke City.
Speaking to the Gazzetta, Shaqiri said, via the Daily Star:
“I had some good times there, and I couldn’t criticise Inter Milan ever. A lot of players joined in that winter, such as Podolski, Kovacic, myself, and a lot of changes were ongoing.”
Xherdan has struggled to hold down a starting spot in German coach Jurgen Klopp’s side, in spite of some good displays for the Reds.
Despite this the midfielder revealed he is happy at Liverpool, but refused to deny he’d return to Italy if given the opportunity.
“Go back to Italy? I’m fine at Liverpool, but you never know.”
The star has scored two goals in nine appearances for Liverpool this season after leaving relegated Stoke City over the summer.
