Liverpool to battle Barcelona for Adama Traore

This season has been a big one in the Premier League. There has been the introduction of VAR, Liverpool breaking records for fun and Adama Traore proving to be one of the most exciting footballers in the division. According to a report by FourFourTwo, Liverpool are considering a move for Adama Traore in the summer – they may have to beat Barcelona to the rapid winger.

Traore is a unique proposition in football at the moment. He is unquantifiably strong, an absolute beefcake if you will. Yet despite his strength he has pace to burn. In football we typically see players that are either slight and rapid or big and bruising – Traore has the best of both worlds.

Given his physical frame and athletic ability, he was already an interesting player – however, this year we have seen the Wolves winger add end product to his game.

At the end of December, Traore proved to be a nightmare for Pep Guardiola and Manchester City. He scored and assisted as the Wanderers came back from two goals down to win 3-2. According to FourFourTwo he has been playing well enough to attract the attention of Liverpool and Manchester City, whist 90min have suggested that Barcelona are looking at bringing him back to Catalonia.

Liverpool signing Adama Traore would be very interesting indeed. He would cost a pretty penny given the clubs that are reportedly interested but he definitely fits the bill profile wise.

We have focused on signing young, hungry, malleable players in recent seasons – Traore has all of these qualities, Jürgen could work wonders with him. If the finances involved are right, he could be a helluva buy.
