Liverpool are keen on signing West Ham United attacking midfielder Manuel Lanzini as Jurgen Klopp looks to finally sign a replacement for Philippe Coutinho, according to the Daily Mirror.
Klopp failed to land another playmaker following Coutinho’s big-money switch to Barcelona throughout the January transfer market after deciding to wait until the summer to chase his targets.
The Reds manager is now pressing ahead with his transfer plans, and the Daily Mirror state Liverpool have a long-standing interest in landing Lanzini from West Ham United.
The Anfield side have been strongly connected with Lyon star Nabil Fekir in the latest weeks, but the newspaper says Manuel is also a target as Jurgen lines-up a formal swoop for the South American.
Lanzini joined West Ham United on loan from Al Jazira Club in 2015 and did enough throughout his first campaign in the Premier League to earn a permanent move to the London Stadium the following year.
The Argentine midfielder netted five goals and provided six assists last campaign to help West Ham United secure their top-flight status for one more year, and his stunning form could now earn him a blockbuster switch to Anfield.
