Liverpool and Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich reportedly face stiff competition from die Roten’s league rivals Borussia Dortmund to secure the signature of RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner, the latest reports from Germany say.
The Reds are said to have moved ahead of a host of English clubs to the front of the queue to land the 22-year-old, who has netted 11 goals and registered 2 assists in 17 Bundesliga matches this term.
Werner emerges to be on his way out of RB Leipzig after stalling on signing a new deal, somewhat forcing the Red Bull-backed side’s hand, and there are no shortage of admirers for the 22-year-old star.
Liverpool and Bayern Munich are considered the favourites to land Timo Werner, but the German tabloid newspaper Bild claims that die Borussen have also entered the race for a star about to enter the final season of his deal.
Twenty-three cap Germany international striker is apparently having second thoughts about moving to Bayern Munich as he does not want to be back-up to Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, leading to Borussia Dortmund making their interest known.
