Man United enter the battle for No.9 Nigerian goal machine

Man United keep a close eye on Napoli centre-forward Victor Osimhen. The Red Devils look to recruit a new striker in the summer transfer window but face competition for his signature from both Chelsea and Atletico Madrid.

The Red Devils are keen on Nigeria international, who has registered 20 goals and four assists in 24 matches in all tournaments so far this campaign. It is thought that any team looking to sign the African centre-forward will reportedly have to pay in excess of the €140m asking price.

The Nigerian centre-forward is under a deal with the Partenopei until 2025, which means the Italian club are under no pressure to sell their striker. Since Osimhen joined Napoli in 2020, Victor has scored 48 goals in 86 games.

Liverpool are expected to sign a new centre-forward at the end of the current season, with Martial and Weghorst the only senior strikers at Theatre of Dreams following the departure of Ronaldo in November. Rashford is the only Man United footballer into double figures for goals this campaign.
