Valencia shot-stopper Giorgi Mamardashvili has insisted that the goalkeeper is happy with the Spanish giants amid reported interest from PL giants Man United and Tottenham. Georgia international joined the Spanish giants last summer from Dinamo Tbilisi.
Having moved on loan initially, Mamardashvili was signed permanently in winter, as he signed a deal with Valencia until 2024. In his short time with La Liga giants, Giorgi has played 21 games, keeping nine clean sheets while letting in 22 goals.
Despite his lack of experience, two of the biggest teams in England in the form of Man United and Tottenham have been linked with a move for the 21-year-old shot-stopper. The Red Devils are on the lookout for a new deputy for David de Gea as Dean Henderson has joined Nottingham Forest on loan for the upcoming campaign.
It has led them to monitor the Georgian goalkeeper as an option. The former Dinamo Tbilisi goalkeeper has now opened up on the speculations linking him with a transfer to the Premier League, stating that he is aware of what is being written in the media, but is happy to continue at Valencia.
Tottenham have extended the deal of Hugo Lloris and have brought in Fraser Forster as cover for the Frenchman. It is unlikely that Spurs might make a move for Mamardashvilie this summer. However, the Red Devils could explore the possibility of a transfer, although they are looking at other possible options as well.
