Man United are in the running to sign Villarreal centre-forward Gerard Moreno this summer. Spain international, who netted against the Red Devils both in normal time and the penalty shootout of the UEL final, has just enjoyed a quite incredible season.
In 46 games across all tournaments, Moreno netted 30 goals, making him one of the most prolific centre-forwards in Europe across the course of the campaign. His displays for the Yellow Submarine have not gone unnoticed.
The publication claim that Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Man United are all interested in signing Gerard in the upcoming summer transfer window. There’s no mention in the report how much Villarreal would demand in exchange for their frontman, but on the back of a 30-goal season, he’s not going to come cheap.
Barcelona have recently signed Sergio Aguero, but the Spanish striker would be another welcome addition to Ronald Koeman’s attack, were he to arrive at the Nou Camp. As for Red Devils, Edinson Cavani finished the campaign strongly, but at 34-years-old, he quite simply cannot play every game.
A new centre-forward may well be needed this summer. While you can be sure Man United faithful have extensive ideas as to who could arrive, there’s one footballer that you can be sure they’re all hoping will walk through the door, England international Jadon Sancho.
