Man United and Chelsea reportedly look to have been given a huge transfer boost in their pursuit of West Ham United star Declan Rice. The 22-year-old midfielder has been one of the finest footballers in the PL in recent times and is clearly also one of the best young footballers in Europe in his position.
It looks only a matter of time before Declan earns himself a move to a bigger club, and Man United and Chelsea have been most heavily linked with him in recent months. Latest reports claim that England international has now informed the Hammers that he won’t be signing a new deal as he looks to pressure the Irons into a sale in the near future.
Rice is expected to cost nearly £94m, and it’s previously been reported that he’s not happy with having such a high asking price. The English midfielder will no doubt hope that this latest move will help him get the transfer he wants, and Man United and Chelsea will surely be encouraged by this development.
Declan had a spell at the London club as a teenager and it makes sense that Chelsea will be keen to bring him back after witnessing his remarkable rise in the last few years. Man United, meanwhile, could do with a long-term replacement for the ageing Matic, and for an upgrade on the inconsistent Fred in midfield.
