Man United join race to sign €50m-rated former Chelsea centre-forward

Man United are reportedly showing a growing interest in a possible transfer move for Roma centre-forward Tammy Abraham next summer. According to reports in Italy, the 24-year-old centre-forward is keen to return to the PL in the near future, despite shining since leaving Chelsea for the Giallorossi last year.

It’s claimed that Chelsea have a clause in Tammy’s deal that will become active in 2023, which will allow them to re-sign their striker for €80m. However, the Red Devils are also eager to be in the battle for Abraham’s signature as they look to strengthen up front, with a long-term replacement for Ronaldo clearly needed.

It stays to be seen if England international will choose a move to Man United or come back to Chelsea, but it would certainly be good to see this top talent back in the PL. The English striker showed huge potential as a teenager at Chelsea, including whilst out on loan, but never really got the opportunity he deserved with the London club.

He’s showing his ability at Roma now, and it’s little surprise Man United are among his suitors. The Englishman has been regularly linked with a PL return since going to Italy. The Blues have a buy-back clause worth double the £34m Roma paid for him in 2021. In late July, Tammy made it clear he was hoping to remain in Serie A for a decent amount of time.
