La Liga giants Real Madrid are looking to beat Premier League duo Manchester United and Liverpool to the signing of Eder Militao by making him their top transfer target.
The Porto star defender is being touted as one of the hottest aces in European football, having arrived from his hometown club Sao Paulo over the summer.
Militao has only made 12 league matches for Porto, but his displays have been good enough to earn himself his first cap for his country, which he picked up in September 2018.
Many of the world’s elite clubs are now circling for the star’s signature and, according to a Spanish national daily sport newspaper Marca, Real Madrid have made Eder Militao their ‘main objective’.
The all-around defender, who can operate at centre-back, right-back or in midfield, has an exit clause of €42 million (£37.8 million).
However, Marca reports that this only runs until 31 January and in the summer transfer market starting in June it will rise to €50 million (£45 million).
Porto are still in the UEFA Champions League and are pushing for the domestic trophy as well, so are unlikely to want to let Eder Militao go in January.
