Man United news round-up: star drawing interest from Italy, key man could leave, talks for defender

Serie A giants linked with surprise swoop for Man United 22-year-old star

AC Milan are reportedly closely monitoring Anthony Martial’s current situation at Manchester United ahead of a possible summer swoop for the winger.

Clubs across the continent have until the end of August to bring in new players in spite of the English transfer window ending the previous week, and the future of Anthony remains uncertain with the Frenchman understood to want to depart from Old Trafford due to a lack of senior-team football.

The likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea were thought to keen on the attacker prior to Thursday’s domestic deadline, and the Italian newspaper La Repubblica now states that AC Milan are considering a bid.

Martial has fallen behind the likes of Marcus Rashford and Alexis Sanchez in the pecking order under coach Jose Mourinho and played no part in Friday night’s season-opening victory against Leicester City.

However, Manchester United are reluctant to lose the 22-year-old wonderboy given that they are no longer able to land a replacement.

Martial made 18 Premier League starts the previous season, but only four of those came after the end of January, when Alexis Sanchez joined the club.

Man United £290,000-a-week key man could still sign for European giants

Barcelona owner Josep Maria Bartomeu has hinted that his side could do further business this summer amid speculation connecting them with a move for Manchester United central midfielder Paul Pogba.

Pogba experienced a fractious relationship with the Red Devils boss, Jose Mourinho, last campaign and cast further doubt over his future as a result of their opening-day win over Leicester City by suggesting that he is on able to say how he truly feels at the club.

The 25-year-old star captained Manchester United against the Foxes and scored their first goal of the new season, but Bartomeu has refused to rule out the chance of trying to prise him away from Old Trafford.

“I won’t speak of any names, we have respect for all clubs and there are 20 days left,” he told reporters after watching the club win the Spanish Super Cup in Morocco.

“We’ll see which players come out. We’re focused on the league, so it’s best to ask [Eric] Abidal, [Ramon] Planes or Pep Segura about players. There’s still time to do business.”

Blaugrana have already brought in Malcom, Arthur Melo, Clement Lenglet and Arturo Vidal this summer.

Turkish giants trying to seal deal for Man United star as negotiations ongoing

The Premier League giants Manchester United central defender Marcos Rojo may reportedly be offered a short route out of Old Trafford by the Turkish side Fenerbahce, according to reports in the Turkish press.

The Argentina international saw a permanent move to Everton break down in the closing phases of the English transfer window as the Toffees instead signed Barcelona Colombina central defender Yerry Mina for an undisclosed fee thought to be around £30 million.

Marcos Rojo could be allowed to depart from the club on a temporary basis until next summer, however, with Turkey’s one of the most popular sports newspapers Fanatik reporting that negotiations are ongoing over a loan deal.

Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho is supposed to sanction the transfer, with the 28-year-old star dropping behind Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Victor Lindelof for a starting place.

A £16 million signing from the Liga NOS giants Sporting Lisbon four years ago, in all competitions (Premier League, FA Cup, EFL Cup, Champions League) Marcos Rojo made just 12 appearances for Manchester United the previous season, provided one assist but failed to net a single goal.
