Man United scouts along with Premier League duo emissaries watched Lisbon derby

Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea were the only Premier League sides to send scouts to the Lisbon derby on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Portuguese press.

Outlet O Jogo not only names the clubs who had emissaries but also points out three stars who the officials should be watching in SL Benfica’s 2-1 win over Sporting CP.

The newspaper says Ruben Dias, Bruno Fernandes and Joao Felix were ‘certainly’ being analysed by these three sides. These names are known in the rumour mill as they’ve all been connected to English sides before.

Joao is the man of the moment. Although the star couldn’t play so well as on the weekend, when he had a goal and an assist versus the very same Sporting CP, he’s still shown some quality when setting up the own goal netted by the Lions’ defender Thiago Ilori.

Ruben Dias also did well, discreet as always, keeping his side’s defence safe for most of the game. The 21-year-old star is already a full Portugal international and was of serious interest to Lyon the previous summer.

Bruno Fernandes netted with a beautiful long-range free kick, and had a big part in Sporting CP’s creative sector, but couldn’t do much more than that to get his club a better result.
