Boca Juniors have allegedly given up on their pursuit of Uruguay and Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani.
The 34-year-old striker is out of contract at the end of the campaign but the Red Devils have the option to extend his deal by another year.
It is suggested that the Old Trafford outfit may look to land a new striker this summer as the South American approaches the end of his career, looking to younger options such as Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Braut Haaland.
ESPN reports that the Argentine club are no longer interested in snapping Cavani up as they expect his current deal to be renewed for one more term with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
Boca Juniors are believed to have switched their attention to 26-year-old forward Roger Martinez, who has recorded 99 appearances for his current team CF America, scoring 23 goals.
Cavani has registered 14 goals and five assists in his 34 appearances for Manchester United this season.
In other news, Manchester United are reportedly willing to test Tottenham Hotspur’s resolve with a £90 million bid for Harry Kane.
The club icon still has three years left on his deal in North London at a time when Spurs are struggling to qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.
