Man Utd eyeing move for La Liga 24-year-old attacker

Premier League rivals Manchester City and Manchester United are reportedly readying a potential move to land Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri in January.

The 24-year-old star, who has struggled with injuries thus far this campaign, enjoyed a prolific stint in front of goal last term, netting 24 times in 52 games across all competitions for Los Nervionenses.

According to Fichajes, the Red Devils and the Citizens alongside West Ham United are three Premier League sides who have expressed their interest in landing En-Nesyri, who is rated at around €50 million (£42 million).

The report goes on to state that the Hammers had a €35 million (£29.4 million) bid rejected by the Spaniards for the Morocco international in last term’s winter window, but they’ll consider tabling a second proposal in January 2022 as David Moyes’ side continue their search for a striker to provide more competition for Michail Antonio.

As for City and United, both clubs are interested in recruiting a centre-forward in one of the upcoming transfer markets and view the potential signing of Youssef as a cheaper alternative to either Harry Kane or Erling Braut Haaland.

En-Nesyri, who joined Sevilla from fellow Spanish side Leganes last year, is tied down to Julen Lopetegui’s side until June 2025.
