Manchester United would reportedly be able to secure services of AC Milan’s midfielder Ismael Bennacer for €50m (£45m) next summer following to a release clause in his current deal with the Serie A giants.
The 22-year-old impressed for AC Milan during the 2019-20 season, and the Red Devils were believed to be interested in signing him during the recent transfer window.
PSG, Man City and Real Madrid were also credited with a strong interest, however, the Algeria international stayed at San Siro past the deadline.
The 22-year-old midfielder has already played seven games for AC Milan this season, providing two assists in the process.
However, despite being a vital player for the Italian club, the terms of his current deal state that a €50m (£45m) release clause will come into play next season, according to Calciomercato reports.
AC Milan star who largely operates as a holding midfielder, represented the Gunners between 2015 and 2017, however, only made one first-team appearance for the North London club before moving on.
