Man Utd on alert: Brighton ready to listen offers for 24-year-old defender

Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly set their price tag for centre-back Ben White at £50m, amid interest from Premier League giants Liverpool and Man Utd.

The 23-year-old, who has had a stunning 2020-21 season with the Seagulls, has replaced Trent Alexander-Arnold in Gareth Southgate’s England team for Euro 2020.

According to the Daily Mail, Brighton are desperate to keep hold of their key player at the club, though an offer in the region of £50m could be enough to let him go.

Graham Potter’s side are believed to have turned down a £25m bid from Leeds United last campaign, where White spent a year on loan in the Championship.

The defender still has three years left on his current deal and Brighton are now considering offering him a new improved deal to convince him to remain at the club.

White made 36 Premier League games for the Seagulls in 2020-21, and made his England debut coming off the bench in the 1-0 win over Austria last week.

Liverpool are looking for a defender in order to solve their injury problems, while Man United yet to find a perfect partner for Harry Maguire to build a solid backline that will help them to compete for the Premier League trophy.
