Paul Scholes has told Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to forget signing of England international winger Jadon Sancho and instead pursue a deal for world-class forward’s such as Harry Kane and Erling Haaland despite Manchester United signing Edinson Cavani on a a free transfer.
Solskjaer identified Dortmund starlet, Jadon Sancho as his No.1 transfer target, however, the Red Devils failed to cough up the required £108million and the England forward will stay in Germany for the 2020/21 season.
And while Donny van de Beek was the only new arrival with just hours left of the transfer window, Uruguan centre-forward Edinson Cavani, Facundo Pellistri, Amad Diallo and Alex Telles all agreed to join Man Utd on the deadline day of the summer transfer window.
United legendary midfielder Paul Scholes told Stadium Astro reporter Alison Bender he wants either Haaland or Kane to make a switch to Old Trafford.
The ex-England midfielder also expressed his disappointment that Man Utd also failed to strengthen their defensive options this sumer.
Reacting to United’s transfer window, Scholes continued: ‘I don’t think he’s the first one who hasn’t been backed.
‘There’s been a lot of money spent but has it been spent on the first choices these managers want? I’m not too sure.
‘I think [Louis] van Gaal and [Jose] Mourinho especially had a moan about that and it’s understandable when they aren’t getting the players they want.
‘I think Ole’s been supported. I think Maguire at £80million is a lot of money, Fernandes just in January has been an excellent signing and the form was good especially coming from Fernandes in January time you felt that this team was going places.’
