Leeds United have been offered the chance to secure the services of Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah for a fee of £20m in the summer, according to a report.
The 22-year-old is facing an uncertain future with the Gunners as his deal set to expire in 2022, and he has failed to become a consistent part of Mikel Arteta’s future plans.
Nketiah previously spent time on loan with Leeds United during their triumphant 2019-20 Championship campaign, founding back of the net three times, however, he only started two second-tier games before returning to the North London giants in January.
However, Football Insider reports that Marcelo Bielsa is looking to strengthen his offensive ranks and provide competition for Patrick Bamford, so a permanent move for Nketiah is a possibility.
In spite of the fact that he will become a free agent in 12 months’ time, the Gunners supposedly still want to garner £20m for their starlet, and Arteta is happy for the Hale End product to depart for the right price.
The England Under-21s captain bagged six goals in 28 appearances under Arteta last season, including two crucial late strikes against West Ham United and Fulham in the Premier League.
