Not Origi: Italy emerge as possible destination for out-of-favour Liverpool forward

Serie A side Fiorentina have reportedly pinpointed Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic as a possible target, according to an Italian sports newspaper Corriere dello Sport, as cited by Calciomercato.

The Serbian star has long been connected with a move away from Anfield side and was given the chance to depart the Reds by Jurgen Klopp during the most recent summer transfer market.

However, a transfer to RSC Anderlecht fell through and Lazar has been forced to sit out of Liverpool’s campaign so far, with the attacker not in the plans of his manager.

It’s likely that the one-time Benfica man will be headed for a departure in the January transfer window and he has appeared as an option for Fiorentina.

The Serie A outfit are stated to be on the observation post for a new winger in the mid-campaign window, with Villarreal star Nicola Sansone lined up for a return to his native Italy.

Although, should Viola fail in their alleged efforts to land the winger, it’s claimed that Lazar has been identified as a contingency plan by Italian manager Stefano Pioli’s side.
