Real Betis in pole position to sign €20m-rated Arsenal star

Real Betis are closing in on signing Hector Bellerin, despite not being close to agreeing on a fee with Arsenal. Moreover, the 27-year-old defender will have to take a pay cut to rejoin the La Liga giants, and there is confidence about concluding a deal.

Spain international believes his cycle was completed at Emirates Stadium last year when he wished to leave Arsenal. With two years left in his deal back then, Arsenal obliged his request and granted a loan move to the Spanish club, where he helped the team win the Copa Del Rey.

The Gunners are demanding nearly €10m for the Spanish defender, which is unattainable for La Liga giants in the current market. Real Betis were ready to move away from a potential move for a brief period, but their interest has reignited in recent weeks.

The Spanish club are focused on bolstering their squad ahead of the new La Liga campaign as they ponder deals within their financial means. While there is interest in Hector, the Verdiblancos are unwilling to pay what the Gunners are demanding.

Real Betis know about Hector’s contractual situation and are set to take advantage. They stay confident because the right-back reportedly craves for a comeback to the club. La Liga giants lodged a €4m offer to tempt the Gunners, only to see the proposal get rejected swiftly as Arsenal stuck to their demands.
