Chelsea and AS Roma want to sign Juventus central defender Daniele Rugani in the January transfer market, according to reports, but Bianconeri are believed to be interested in retaining the defender’s services.
The Italy international Rugani was a top defensive target for Italian manager Maurizio Sarri during the summer transfer market, but Juventus opted to refuse offers for their defender.
According to fresh claims from football news Italian website Calciomercato.com, the Blues remain interested in a potential deal for the Juventus star, but Massimiliano Allegri’s men do not want to sanction the sale.
Daniele is one of the world’s most coveted centre-halfs and a host of clubs across the continent have been linked with signing him, including Chelsea and Serie A duo AS Roma and AC Milan.
However, it looks like a mammoth offer would be required from possible suitors to tempt the Old Lady into allowing the centre-back to depart midway through the domestic season.
The 24-year-old Daniele Rugani has made only two starts in Serie A this term and could be keen to secure regular first-team playing-time elsewhere.
