And Alcantara has done well since his move to Liverpool. However, Thiago is in his twilight years, and his availability has been a concern as well.
It will be interesting to see if the German manager is willing to cash in on the Spanish midfielder and invest in a younger option this summer. The Rossoneri need someone who can control games and dictate the tempo. Very few footballers in the world can do that as well as the Spaniard.
The lower intensity of Italian football would suit the 31-year-old midfielder as well. The Merseyside giants are likely to lose footballers like Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Milner at the end of the campaign when their deals expire.
The Merseyside giants will need to bring in more than one central midfielder in the summer transfer window. And selling Thiago Alcantara might not be a wise decision for now.
