Serie A giants keen on to agree deal for Man Utd playmaker

Roma have reportedly rejected the chance to secure the services of Manchester United midfield destroyer Nemanja Matic.

The 32-year-old anchorman who played under incoming AS Roma head coach Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge has played 36 games for the 20-times English champions during the 2020-21 season.

The Serbia international is not a regular starter at Old Trafford, though, and it has been claimed that he could depart from the Red Devils during this summer’s transfer window.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the Red Devils head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had given his approval for the midfielder to move to AS Roma in the upcoming transfer market.

However, the report suggests that the Italian giants have turned down the chance to sign him, as they cannot afford to pay the Serbian’s wages.

Former Chelsea midfielder who is with the Red Devils squad in Gdansk for the Europa League final has played 157 games for the 20-time English champions since arriving from their direct rivals Chelsea back in 2017.

Man Utd another midfielder Paul Pogba has been rumoured with a departure from Old Trafford as Juventus thought to be his favoured destination while Real Madrid also keeping close tabs on his signature.
