Serie A giants trying to secure deal for Man United £60,000-a-week defender

The Italian giants Napoli are eyeing up a summer move for Manchester United full-back Matteo Darmian this transfer window.

According to the Italian outlet Football Italia, Partenopei are hoping to secure a deal for Matteo over the next few weeks.

Italy international is out of favour at the Red Devils, and the club’s management is prepared to part company with the defender.

The report states that another Serie A giants Juventus have already agreed to terms with Matteo Darmian, but are yet to agree on a fee with Manchester United.

The Old Lady have offered €12 million for Darmian, with Manchester United look to get at least €20 million for the versatile Italian defender.

Italy failed to qualify for the World Cup in Russia this summer, leaving Matteo with a full summer to sort out his club future ahead of next campaign.

Juventus are still said to be the front-runners to sign Darmian, but Napoli are ready to swoop in if their deal falls apart.

This season, in all competitions (Premier League, Champions League, FA CUP, EFL Cup), all-around defender Matteo Darmian has made 16 appearances and provided two assists.
