Unai Emery’s Arsenal have reportedly appeared as front-runners in the race to land Belgium international winger Yannick Carrasco, the latest reports from Italy say.
Belgian star currently plays for Chinese Super League outfit Dalian Yifang following his move from European heavyweights Atletico Madrid last February.
The 25-year-old star is said to be interested in returning to Europe after less than a year in China and the likes of Gennaro Gattuso’s AC Milan and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United have been credited with an interest.
A sports television channel Sky Sport Italia reports that the north London giants are currently the favourites to secure the star’s signature, though, having already made the first contact.
The Gunners are in the transfer market for a winger this month following a campaign-ending injury to Danny Welbeck, and Yannick is thought to have given his approval to the move.
The Belgian winger is keen to play in the Premier League, while Serie A giants AC Milan could also struggle to afford a deal for the forward considering he is on around £170,000 a week in China.
